It was nice. There was just no booklet in the unit to explain what all was available to do at the resort. We also quite like to wash our dishes ourselves and there wasn't much to be able to do that. It's always fun at ATKV Klein Kariba. Think because we know what we're getting.
We had a really nice stay and enjoyed ourselves so much with everything there is to do at the resort. Our tent home was very comfortable and had everything we needed. They came to clean and change towels every day. The restaurant surprised us so much with their reasonable prices and prompt service. We were also on a game drive and can recommend it to everyone. The tour guide entertained us so much and informed us well about the animals. Will return again for sure. Many thanks to all the people at the resort.

This was a business trip, so I just slept there in my tent. Everything was very good, from the service at reception to the people who cleaned. Definitely a place to visit again.
Very friendly service from the staff. Everything was clean and tidy. My 2 year old enjoyed the nature walks as well as the other swimming and water facilities. It was also a good learning session for my child to be able to see the different animals up close. Our time was too short!
We always have a great time at ATKV Klein Kariba. Wish we had more nights to stay.
We had a very nice stay. We were there for 7 days and in the 7 days we only had 1 tea towel and 1 cloth and 1 small bottle of diluted Sunlight liquid. After day 2, the little patch disappeared and the little bottle of dish soap was never refilled. Our toilet paper was never replenished either. Our towels were also not replaced until we asked. There are also no dish cloths to take the hot pans out of the oven, everything had to be done with the one tea towel that was provided. If the resort does not provide the above, they should please. communicate so we can take it together next time.
It was the best accommodation I have been to. Very clean and tidy. Very safe for the children. Lots to do. We had such a nice time there. Would recommend to anyone. Would recommend it for sure.
I recently had a stay at the accommodation unit and wanted to share my experience. The check-in process was smooth and without any problems. I was received quickly and kindly, which made a positive impression. The accommodation itself was reasonable, but I have to say that it needs some updating, especially the shower. It clearly looked like it needed some attention to ensure everything was in good shape. The restaurant's food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I really enjoyed eating there and would recommend it to other guests, especially the pizza. The entertainment facilities were easily accessible and there was more than enough to do. It made the experience enjoyable and I appreciated that there were so many options available. I would suggest repainting the residential vehicle parking numbers to improve visibility. This will help make the parking area easier to navigate and improve guest experience. Although there are a few small aspects that need attention, my overall stay experience was positive. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. I recommend this accommodation unit to other travelers who are looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Very nice camping. Slide was fun. I tried to catch fish, but caught nothing. I'm not sure what to fish with to get the fish to bite.
It was very nice. Little Kariba is very neat and everything works there. The staff is very friendly and you feel right at home there. It's lovely in the woods. The animals are also beautiful and not aggressive. The weather didn't cooperate as it was 28, 39 and 40 degrees. We will definitely visit Klein Kariba again.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is very clean and has great activities. Swimming pools are clean and a person can swim for almost 24 hours. There is plenty for children of all ages to do. Load power was not a problem as generators helped a lot. The nature is breathtaking. Accommodation has everything one needs and it is very clean and safe.

Was fun. Security was lacking a bit. Teenagers next to us who were very loud till at least 23:00, until one of us went and told them to be quiet. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

Great time spent with family.
It feels like you are back at school, the pools are only there for walking, sitting or standing, the security watches you with hawk eyes, if you swim you are told, you are not allowed. We arrived there on Wednesday, that day, and on Thursday and Friday it was so noisy with lawnmowers, weedeaters and leafblowers from 8 o'clock until after 5 o'clock, Saturday was peace and quiet and early Sunday we had to be out again. Where you go there are rules and regulations just like at a school. You are not even allowed to drink soft drinks near the pool, then the security will chase you.
We had a great time, everything was as I expected except the unit was unbearably hot inside, if we hadn't brought an extra fan we wouldn't have been able to sleep.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in a permanent tent house. The whole resort was a pleasant surprise and we will definitely visit ATKV Klein Kariba again. Resort management can take action against the car owners who stop in the road because they are too lazy to walk a few steps. But don't let that put you off this great resort.

We had such a nice stay, the staff are so friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back again. We originally booked an apartment without air conditioner, but the staff very quickly helped us upgrade our room to a mountain house with air conditioner.

We have yes, the shower wall is collapsing and spongy. The shower head is also loose. People at the pool outside booked the tables themselves and simply booked the tables all weekend with towels or tablecloths. We didn't get a chance to use some of the tables. Also, unpleasant fights broke out over the booking of tables. Think you might have to put a stop to it.

A very comfortable stay in one of the tent houses. Fortunately, we were allocated number 20, one of 3 tent houses on the slope of the hill further away from the other resort accommodation and facilities. This ensured a quiet stay, isolated from the rest of the goings-on, looking out over the bushveld valley.

Kitchen cabinet doors by handles are very dirty.
We stayed in wooden house #11 and it needs to be upgraded. Really not worth the price per night. Floors are done, air conditioner does not cool and makes terrible noise. Cockroaches were noticed in the bedroom. Workers chase monkeys and baboons with paintball guns without warning. One wakes up and wonders if someone is making war. Service at the pool's eatery is dismal. One waits about 30 minutes for a Chip'n'dip. There is also no salt at all. The so-called alcohol slushies for R45 taste pure soft drink and that with a 10 cent straw. Furthermore, the resort is clean and tidy, staff are generally friendly and helpful, especially at the gate.

It was my birthday and my wife booked us here. Beautiful place it caters for all your dream for a holiday. If you want a very quiet environment it caters for it, if you need adventure you got it. If it's a touch of nature it's your number one stop. Fun park and themes for adults and kids included. Lastly the best indoor heated pool this got me totally. Overall experience I will say it's 8.5.
I love the tented homes, it simply feels like something else. The heated pool open at night and early morning is a winner.
We stayed in the tent house no 15 out of season, for the price the accommodation is absolute value for money! (Out of season/school holidays). The tent house is spacious, neat and luxurious. Everything you need is there, even backup power in the evening so there is no load shedding. All that didn't work was the DStv and remote, but we weren't there to watch TV so it didn't bother us much. The resort is very clean, well maintained and our little one really enjoyed it. We will definitely vacation there again.
There are many activities to do such as an adventure ride, pedal boats, horse riding, quad bikes, slide, putt-putt, 4 swimming pools, lots of play areas, beautiful restaurant, security walking around the resort in the evening, during the day security at the swimming pools, daily cleaning of rooms.
Little Kariba is very well maintained. It's lovely clean. We only had a bit of a problem in that the people below us and the flat next to them were drinking and then going out which kept us from sleeping. The next morning, their lawn in front of the unit was strewn with liquor bottles that they had left the night before. Otherwise, the unit 54 we were in was very well appointed. Next time I would rather check into the wooden houses on the dam for a place to sit quietly in the evening or early morning without the people below or next to you possibly disturbing the sleep with their drunkenness and drunken shouting.
Everything was just comfortable from our arrival there. Information when you arrive about daily activities is a bit vague. We arrived on Friday and by Saturday morning most activities were booked out. It would be nice if they could tell you when you get there. But we know now for next time. The rest was all above expectations. Rugby watching was a bonus.

The parking was allocated to number 3 and not to our cottage. This caused an incident and rampage. The resort dealt with it very quickly and it was resolved in a nice way.

When booking, first contact the resort itself to find out about their ongoing construction as certain accommodation options will definitely be harmed by the continuous noise from the felling and construction even during in-season times. Also take earplugs with you for the evening as their generators turn on regardless of the time of night and this will definitely disturb a peaceful night's sleep especially if load shedding is between 03:00-05:00 in the mornings and the units are not sound proof in any way.

After an incident on our arrival which was sorted out very professionally and with integrity, the rest of our stay at the resort was very pleasant.
All 4 pools were kept clean. The staff is very friendly. We ate at the restaurant for lunch where there was enjoyed the view of the waterfall. The apartment was in a great location, less than a minute's walk to the inside hot pool, good size apartment, maybe the kitchen needs a little more storage, apart from that everything was neat and tidy. Overall Klien Kariba is a great stay with kids, great value for money.

Tent house no. 17 was in the woods, no sidewalk lights had to turn on phone light. Far from car parking in the forest, one can tell in advance no. of tent house you get, my leg is broken, had to walk far. After I asked for other cottage. Reception far from tent house, also had to put it in reservation then one could have reserved a closer place. Bed was terribly uncomfortable.

Now it was a pleasure to camp there. The campsites are perfect. It is under shade net and on a cement slab. Power was not a problem because ATKV again provided for it. Ablution blocks were clean and tidy. There were dishwashers to wash your dishes and tent/caravan storers to help you store your tent and caravan, so you could relax. Shop was on site and everything was available. Restaurant was close at hand and you could also get takeaways there. The pools were clean and you could choose between hot and cold. Very nice - will definitely go again!
It is a nice place for the family or for the family. There is something of everything and everything is very neat and clean. The service is good and the people are friendly.

We were booked into one of the mountain houses in Klein Karieba for a long weekend. The units are comfortable, clean and tidy. The built-in braai and stoep area was delightfully cozy with a beautiful view and we were often visited by goats grazing freely around the units. The generators that automatically kick in during loadshedding have also been a real boon. The hiking trails are beautiful if you are looking for some exercise and want to admire nature and the many swimming pools are clean and well maintained. I can recommend Klei Kariba and will definitely visit the place again.

The pool areas are nice. We just had a few problems. The cars were constantly rushing up and down the campsite, our children couldn't even really enjoy playing and we were afraid that a car would drive over our tent, we informed the office people but nothing happened. If we wanted to rest or take a nap at 12 o'clock in the afternoon, they come there with the leafblower and make noise, then you only smell diesel fumes. The toilets were incredibly dirty.
We only stayed one night from Australia on our way to Louis Trichardt.

The place is well located near the R101 & N1 roads and within reach to Bela Bela town. The environment is therapeutic and healing for the mind.

The staff were very friendly from reception to the cleaners. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The scenery there is wonderful, all the animals that move between you are so beautiful. The premises were very clean and tidy and swimming pools were also clean.
Was amazing apart from the disappointment of not being on the dam as the pictures showed. It was my and my wife's wedding anniversary and that's why I paid the price for 2 days because it was on the dam in a log cabin.
The rooms are not clean, there are cockroaches in the kitchen units. The blankets we slept with, they just folded them and put them back in the wardrobe. There are a lot of ants as well. The cutlery and the pots were not clean.
Will pay a visit there again. Accommodation and service are excellent. And their swimming pools are always clean and the place itself is also neat.

The restaurant is indeed a little outdated and they could just liven up their menu with some exciting dishes and maybe instead add chips or something like that.

I would like to see that the double beds in the mountain tents are bigger. The braai places are very nice and with a little effort the area around the braai places can just get bigger paving so that you can at least walk around the table that is next to the braai. The service of the tent house was good, but can there please be be left a drying cloth? There is a washcloth, but drying cloth would be appreciated.
The cycle routes can be upgraded. Too much loose sand on the roads - bicycle wheel gets stuck. The rest of our time was amazing.
Our kids had so much to do and so did we, it's definitely a family place to go.
Had a great time but the wooden houses need some attention. On arrival there had been so many wasps and children were allergic. The cottage inside stank of dampness. The faucet leaked and the stove didn't work. Could definitely pay a little more attention to upgrading the log cabins for the price one pays. But everything else was nice.
Als is nicely furnished and had a great stay.
If the Tent Houses parking spaces can be numbered in order, it will be better and you can be close to your Tent House.

The apartment is very small. The resort itself is very neat and nice.
Enjoy the restaurant's breakfast, the clean swimming pools and lovely gardens.
It was very beautiful. Very clean! Nice and quiet and safe. Children really enjoyed it.
The campsites are between the mountains and the sun comes in late and goes out early and this makes it freezing cold in the winter. The indoor swimming pool is lovely, but definitely lacks decent changing booths. The waterfall by the restaurant is beautiful but I can't see why there can't be a little bridge over the water so that you can visit the dam above with the clearly visible walking route on the other side. The campsites' shaded nets are lovely, but the entrance to them for caravans is very difficult. The banks are too high and can definitely be improved. Other than that, it's a great place and is definitely recommended.
We walked 3 hiking trails: Easy (Green), Mahlakalaka, Kloof (Yellow) and Kudubessie (Red) ─ is style down.

What a nice getaway. Our kiddies enjoyed themselves so much. There is something for everyone to do. From fishing (for dad), adventure rides to swimming pools and horse riding, restaurant. The list doesn't stop. The WiFi is a nice treat. Can't wait to book my next getaway at Klein Kariba.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there were people on two sites (our Camping) near us who made extremely loud noises and drank terribly. Then on Sunday, a student group of about 8 people showed up and made so much noise, that I threatened them to contact security. Secondly, the banded mouse dogs, monkeys and baboons that you have to drive away from time to time, not only from your own caravan, but also from other people's caravans, as well as a wild boar that wreaks havoc at night. Thirdly, there is the continuous movement of vehicles, tractor with trailer that occasionally removes garbage, delivery vans that take short cuts through the camp, as well as the workers who cannot speak softly. Finally, there is the blower used to blow away leaves. Friday, Saturday, Sunday! Any day. A rake is not used. There is no tranquility in the camping area.

It was the first time that my friend and I broke away from ATKV Klein Kariba for a few days. We enjoyed every moment of it. We plan to come back soon for a well-deserved break.
Although it was raining, we were able to enjoy the indoor pool. The store is full of variety of essential and non-essential provisions. Customer service is of high quality. We had a nice time. Our mountain house's roof did leak and we had to struggle to stay dry while barbecuing, the cleanliness of the cabin could be improved with such rapture in the shower and kitchen.

This was our first visit to the resort. When we checked in at the office, we were helped by an unfriendly and surly man. Acted like he didn't want to be there. Also did not receive any information sheets or map of the resort, would have helped as it was our first visit. The kitchen sink drain was blocked which meant we couldn't wash any dishes. The blocked pipe also caused a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom. After we reported it, it was cleaned up. 6 meters of pipe was totally blocked, it was clear that it had not been cleaned for years and this was also confirmed by the employee. With all that said, we still had a great time relaxing and resting.
It's the second time my wife and I have stayed in the unit and once again it did not disappoint. It is a special type of accommodation that gives you a lot of privacy, but also the choice to be among people, eat out, drive, walk, make purchases at the well-equipped shop on site and much more because it is located in the resort is. The staff at ATKV Klein Kariba's reception are exceptionally friendly, well informed and helpful!

The first time ever! What an experience. Klein Kariba was the worst place I have ever booked and stayed with! On arrival we had to sit outside 14:30 on 3rd April because the dirt bags were lying on the floors. Place was still being cleaned. There was only 2 double beds but I booked for 6 persons. We couldn't use couches to sleep on because it was raining and roof leaked water on to us! The utensils, glasses, etc. was dirty in the cupboards. Bedding was full of dirt marks. Wi-Fi was not working! Last day it only become available. This was very bad experience for us. Used to stay at Buffelspoort and we did not receive this bad service. We will not ever book with this place again. I hope that Buffelspoort is still the same. You wasted 1 week of our time and our money!

It's really beautiful. We saw all kinds of wild animals right outside our tent. The restaurant was not top notch. It was my daughter's birthday so we took her to the restaurant, we waited 15 min with no service, when someone finally came to help us they were incompetent and told us they were closing. Went again on Sunday and did not receive good service at all so had to drive to town all the time to buy things there. Furthermore, the place is incredibly nice. Will definitely go again.

We have been visiting Klein Kariba since 2001 (so 20 years), and have always had a great time. However, what is currently happening at the resort is very sad and disappointing, and if it were to continue like this, it would definitely mean the end of the resort. We will definitely not book accommodation there again, nor will we recommend the resort. It's a shame that certain elements spoil the tranquility of the resort.

All staff are very friendly and considerate. The resort and accommodation very neat and clean. The tranquility of the resort and nature is excellent.
From reception to 12 days later, every staff member was super helpful. Resort exceptionally clean and well maintained. Safe, every night guards with dogs on tags that roam the entire resort. Pool x 4 all clean. Already booked again for next year.
Door handle faulty. Door closed with key on outside. Couldn't open door from inside. Reception does not answer my calls. Send email. No response. Had to knock on windows to get the attention of people passing by for help. Television gives problems. Waited 3 and a half hours, after 3 calls and after I went to reception myself, before it was repaired. Power went out for a short time and came back on more than once (not load shedding). I checked out a day earlier and came home. Email has been sent to institution with no response so far. I only used the buffet breakfast once as the food was cold. The wall plug in the kitchen where the boiler and stove are plugged in is loose. It was a really unpleasant experience and I get the impression that the management doesn't care much.

For a short one night stop over, it was perfect. The Units are old but acceptable and clean. The resort is beautifully maintained. We would most certainly return for a longer stay in one of the more upmarket units. Can certainly recommend. Only issue we did have is that all the guests were placed together in a cluster and noise was an issue, even though there were empty units all over. Overall - stay was pleasant.
The housing needs a lot of renovation and the resort was full of rubbish. The restaurant was very dirty, the floors were full of rubbish and there were many drunk guests around the pool. Will not take my kids there again. It was once the grand family resort, but not anymore. Management will have to consider whether it is a family resort or a drinking and socializing place.
There are many activities and it will be a fantastic place for children. Food very reasonable and tasty.

Pool always clean and nice and warm. Berghuis 24 is great and in a quiet area of resort. Items in store more than affordable. Every SMS one receives from the office has a purpose. One can really only give 100% without any problems, already looking forward to the next visit to the resort.
Lots of space to swim, cycle, go for a walk and just admire the incredibly beautiful nature while lying in the pool. Our whole family really enjoyed it.

The big problem, however, is the quality of the furniture in the apartment. It is very weak and not convenient. This makes all the other benefits very watered down.
The resort's location reminds one a lot of that of Blydepoort where we had many wonderful holidays in the past and we immediately felt at home. What immediately struck us was the cleanliness and beauty of the resort and the imposing rock walls on either side of the gorge in which the resort is located. It makes one feel safe in a peculiar way. Then there is also the beautiful pond with the wooden houses on its bank which is a lovely sight. You can really feel the tranquility there and we will definitely go there again.
Unfortunately there were just too many people, there was a conference, and couldn't rest or use facilities at all, just too busy, too much noise.

Are they open for day visitors on weekends. There were many people and many played their own music very loudly. No loud music/noise rule? But when the weekend people left, it was nice and quiet.

We haven't had a break for a long time. This was so amazing and peaceful. There was so much to do. Friendly and helpful staff. Covid protocols were adhered to by the staff they were constantly cleaning and keeping the grounds p to standard. I wish we had more time to stay.

The best getaway weekend ever. A beautiful resort with very friendly staff who went out of their way for us. Lots of fun activities for the whole family. Fantastic kiosk and restaurant, and everything you need at the store.
My wife and I really enjoyed being so close to nature. We walked a lot but it didn't feel like there is a lot to do and keep you busy all day.

Check in and check out was seamless. Cleaning services was timeouts and queries attended immediately.
On arrival the braai was filthy. On Saturday they did not clean our unit at all. Not until 16:00 in the afternoon after I had to call the service manager. People stop wherever they want, you have to keep asking them to move. Play music rock hard.
Few problems, 1 overnight visitors a problem rest disturbance.
I am very disappointed in the condition of the wooden cabin (018). The set outside the unit on the verandah was of extremely poor condition/quality. Four plastic chairs and 2 wooden chairs that have already been done. The wooden railing at the stairs is rotten and not fixed properly. Inside the unit, it's not much better. The laminated floors are done. A/C leaks water on the floor.

Klein Kariba has always been my number one resort, place is always clean, the staff are friendly and the pools are very well maintained. It was our first time there with our boy this time. My only criticism is that the bins in the kitchen and bathroom need to get lids, between a two year old and the heat with flies the lidless bins in the unit are a nightmare. Otherwise fantastic as always.

This is a nice resort with lots to do.
The staff and management really look after the resort, especially in this Covid time, everything is clean and tidy.
On arrival we are directed to our sleeping place which is not the apartment block we booked. The place is probably 60% cleared briefly. The microwave that is built into the cabinet has no power supply point to make it work. Communication between reception / information center and the workers at activities is very poor. You are referred from one to another to sort out problems. Koswerf restaurant, a clear message is sent before arrival to support the restaurant, after which we want to spend a day there to eat and realize the place is not open, only the small Koswerf shop by the pool and their food is not something I would recommend after we waited 40 mins to receive 2 pizzas one of which was 80% burnt pitch black and the other had lost 50% of its topping. I have been to Klein Kariba before and it is very sad to see how they have deteriorated.
I just wanted to suggest that a hot pool is great, but when it's 35 degrees outside you sometimes want to cool off in the pool and there was only 1 cold water pool. Other than that we enjoyed it. Maybe there should be more activities for teenagers over a weekend.

The putt-putt needs attending. They advertised dinner, but when we got there dinner was closed. We did not bring enough food, thinking that the dinner area was open. We only stayed for 3 nights so ate out at the fast food places.
We had a great time hanging out, swimming and enjoying the beautiful resort. The monkeys and baboons are just a lot of trouble.
Units are not neatly cleaned. No wall plug for hairdryer in master bedroom. Bathroom needs maintenance, especially ceiling peeling off and shower head being loose.
The children had quite a treat with animals that constantly walked passed our living quarters..
Although we had a very nice stay, it would have been good if we had been informed ahead of time about the many stairs you have to use to get to the unit. We were told that this is their only 4 star mountain cabin. If I had known that, I might have chosen a different unit. has. But other than that we really enjoyed it.

Otherwise we really enjoyed the week there and will definitely be back stop by in the near future.
We had a good time except for the loud drunks drinking at the pools exposing themselves and the adventure drive that again had a bunch of tipsy women that where drinking and being very loud. This trip ended in one of these drunk persons throwing a glass bottle off the back of the truck putting the families walking past at risk of injury.

It was our first visit to ATKV Klein Kariba, and will definitely go back.
The staff is very friendly. However, the unit needs attention. Many things are broken and the benches are dirty. It's not exactly suitable for people with small children. The kitchen is very well equipped. The resort does not have facilities for changing baby diapers. Not even near the pools. Changing rooms are very few around the main activity area. I could only locate the at the indoor pool. If it rains it's a mess. There is only 1 canopy near the pool. I would consider putting up toilets and canopies at the food court.

Beautiful scenery, caravan pitch under shade net was very comfortable. Ablutions neat and clean. Lots of family activities and good atmosphere at swimming pools.
Tent houses were really very comfortable, extremely private, in the forest with Njalas and banded mouse dogs coming to visit! Beautiful bird sounds! Will definitely come again!
There is something for everyone, no matter how old you are.

Children's fun for all ages, children's play park is for very small children, the mini-golf for bigger children and the slide for teenagers and older people. For children between the ages of 7 and 12 there is really no entertainment, except to just swim and then complain all day that they are bored.
The resort is beautiful. The swimming pools clean and tidy. The indoor pool only now opens a little later during the Covid and there are no notices to warn you.
Value for money, comfortable, tidy, fantastic service and Lots to do. Will definitely visit regularly.

We stayed with family in two mountain houses. Wonderful atmosphere, very peaceful (apart from our neighbors opposite baby!) and beautiful surroundings. Will definitely go again, one of our favourites. Swimming area is very pleasant and clean, lots to do for the children. Resort is clean, tidy and peaceful, and this is one of the reasons why Klein-Kariba (and probably all the ATKV resorts) are so popular. PS: Our air conditioners in our unit did not work when we arrived, but they immediately sent someone to come and fix it. We also couldn't get the WiFi to work either, but that's not the worst. Thank you very much!
Although everything is very nice and beautiful, the construction was a bit tricky. Early in the morning, the workers had already begun to stir.
We had the great privilege of getting married at ATKV Klein Kariba this weekend. Every moment was planned in detail and I didn't have one moment's stress, thanks to Bronwyn and her team.
No issues, beautiful scenery as well as animals that wondered, so it was a fantastic stay all in all, staff are friendly and go the extra mile.

We were originally supposed to stay in a mountain cottage. The mountain house smelled like smoke. From kitchen to rooms, everything smelled like smoke. I talked to reception where the original lady was not helpful at all and treated me very unfriendly. The second lady was very friendly and then moved us to their log cabins. Everything was neat and looked great until it started to rain and the whole bed was soaked and we couldn't sleep there. The bedding smelled of smoke and urine again. The pool was very nice and we ate very well at the restaurant. ATKV Klein Kariba's price for accommodation is far too much for what you get and would not recommend it at all. The accommodation (all accommodation) requires a lot of work.
Our first time camping at Klein Kariba, truly a place to go back to. Uncle Jan is also very friendly and has really crept deep into our little daughter's heart. Thank you Uncle Jan, you are truly an asset to Klein Kariba.

Monkeys were a big problem, porch permanently dirty because of monkeys. Chair's cushions for porch sets were dirty and full of cigarette burns.
We stayed in Berghut 19. The particular cabin is very private and well located, a bit snug for a 6 sleeper. However, air conditioning was very welcome. Indoor pool was due for improvements but we were not informed about it in advance. Outdoor pools were neat and clean though. A little overcrowded due to schools rugby teams dominating. Children really enjoyed sliding, when rugby teams were not on.
Staff very professional and friendly. Facilities to stimulate everyone. Neat and calm atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting again.

Everything was fantastic. It is incredibly beautiful, clean and the staff are friendly, helpful and nimble. Almost all the staff speak Afrikaans which was also noticeable. The unit is just not for six people. The sofa bed is as wide as a three-quarter bed and the length is only about 1.2 m, which is very short. Not really adequate for sleeping and definitely not for two children over 10.

Was a very nice getaway. The kids really enjoyed it.
Check-in quick and easy. Bonus with the heat there was the three aircons. ATM onsite made it very confusing. Added feature was with loadshedding resort was fully operational with no impact. Free Wi-Fi. All pools open till 22:00 was a bonus. Safe with the security especially in the evenings was very visible. My family and I had an absolutely awesome stay which ended too soon. The only area where I would suggest a change is that at the all the outside pools there is no shade or rather very minimal shade provided.

Included in the price and with notice in the unit, units are cleaned on certain days. We were there for 5 days. No one ever cleaned the kitchen or bathroom. We did find a roll of toilet paper on the porch on Saturday. For that price you at least expect the kitchen and bathroom to be cleaned. We were also not impressed with the cockroaches.
The tent house was beautiful and comfortable, staff were very helpful and friendly, and the facilities were very well maintained. Lots to do for children and teenagers, and because it felt safe I could also enjoy a peaceful holiday without worrying about my child. The entertainment team was very nice, and it was nice to enjoy everything in Afrikaans. We will definitely be back again!

The place is green and screams life. Water splashes. Feel safe and secure. Buildings are beautiful and good quality. However the inside is old and needs a little bit of TLC and fumigation. We had cockroaches inside the fridge.

For holidaymakers like us from Pretoria, Klein Kariba is far enough to feel like you are going on holiday, but close enough that the ride is quick and easy. Place is very well cared for and very quiet, but bring your own food and drinks as the prices in the shop within the resort are ridiculously expensive. Lots to do for a young family.

It's a shame the unit doesn't have a back door. The apartment was inconveniently hot in the heatwave as it faces west and does not have air conditioning. Due to monkeys that can come in, you can't open the windows on the east side either, as there are no safety screens in front of the windows. So there was no draft through the apartment in the heat. Klein Kariba is a fantastic resort with all the comforts you need for a holiday. We will definitely visit the place again.

From the receptionist (Yesmeen), who helped us book in, to the farewell greeting to the same person on Sunday, October 20, it was a great experience for my wife and I. The reception staff were friendly and professional. They know what they're doing. We were so comfortable at check-in, it almost felt as if we were coming home after a long journey! The accommodation is great. What was remarkable when we unlocked and entered the door, our room was nice and cool. The air conditioning was already switched on, as if we were expected! Excellent! The restaurant (Koswerf) staff, chef, cashier, bar staff and also the waiters did a great job. Everyone was very friendly and made you feel at ease and at home, as if you were in your own kitchen. We met Rooi Jan on site and joked with each other, as if we were old friends. To sum it all up, it was a memorable experience. The first time in 25 years I was able to take my wife away alone for a weekend getaway and it was all worth it! Every little bit of it. It was as if Klein Kariba's staff knew this to be the case. Rooi Jan, thank you to you and your staff, it was great fun. We are already planning on your next visit.

Our stay on Klein Kariba was very good, on arrival there were 2 men standing by to help with setting up camp which we really appreciated as my husband's health is poor and his cousin who was with us recently had a major back operation. The changing rooms and generally the resort are always very clean and tidy regardless of the time of day or night. We were very disappointed because the indoor pool was out of action and we were not notified found out from other campers after we had already checked in and set up camp. It was a disappointment as we prefer the indoor pool because my husband's health and the small children in our group, which took a toll on our break. Furthermore, there are fridges available for rent at R50 per day, we were lucky enough to find one that didn't work and because we only go to the fridge every second day for new meat we suffered. The meat was already thawed and stinking when we came upon the.
We had a very nice few days, there was a lot to do and see for us and the two children. Would recommend any one to stay over. The tents were excellent.
I was very disappointed by my stay at ATKV Klein Kariba. What is presented in the photos on the website is not what we got. We had booked the log cabins at the dam, which the website depicted as cabins on the dam with gorgeous views. We were put into Cabin 2, which had no view of the dam, in fact no view at all. The trees were right against the balcony blocking any view, and the tree had old dishcloths and plastic bags in them. Below the balcony, there was a fair amount of rubbish. The main bedroom had a double bed, which had a dip in the middle so you spent the whole night fighting yourself from rolling into your partner. The service from the kitchen in the restaurant was very slow, waiting an average for your meal of 25 minutes from time of order and when we finally got our meal, our medium steaks were gray and not medium as ordered. We had also booked quad bike rides and unfortunately the lady in the information desk booked the wrong time and we missed our slot. We were not prepared to spend another night there and checked out before 9:30 that morning. Very disappointed because we were really looking forward our holiday. When I go away on holiday, I expect to get the same or better than I have at home, this was not the case.
Very pleasant, tidy accommodation with all kinds of entertainment for the children. Nice cafe. Very friendly Afrikaans service everywhere. The baboons and monkeys are just really a pest. It's one thing to keep your front door closed for baboons, but if you also have to keep your windows closed all the time for monkeys, it becomes unpleasant (very hot) in the house, especially at night. More can be done to cover the windows with mesh or screen wire or something similar so that one can at least keep the windows open.
Klein Kariba is truly a place for everyone to enjoy!

It was a very nice place, clean and neat! Enough to keep children busy and the food at the restaurant was fantastic.
Beautiful mountain houses. Mountain houses are closer to the swimming area than the log houses. Took a log house last time and had to drive "far" to the pool every time. Was able to walk with ease this time although the uphills are so steep that we drove anyway, but it's closer to the swimming/play area. Air con in main room and master bedroom is nice. Everything you need. Nice place. Perfect for small children. Lots of climbing frames and play area and small shallow pool for children.

The resort is very nice and all the facilities, but the restaurant was pathetic, the service very poor and the food presented pathetically.
This is our fifth visit to the resort and we enjoy the warm pools especially, as well as exploring the hiking trails. The accommodation is basic and I think needs to be refreshed. The couches are not comfortable and the lighting in the kitchen is poor. It was quite a squeeze in our unit so that we had to put the campcot on top of one of the beds.
There was so much to do for the children ─ young and old. And everything was so clean and tidy. We will definitely come back.
It would be great if management can put up a net at the volleyball court. A lot of balls are lost. Is it possible to add a slide for kids ages 4 to 10 years? The current stream is to powerful for small children.
Excellent getaway resort.
Staying in the flats, at best the neighbours understand courtesy and respect boundaries. The noise in the restaurant was unbearable. But generally enjoyed the stay and the amenities.
We were booked in a room. After problems there, Peter Mtlala moved us to the Diamond suite. What a beautiful place. The service, helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff everywhere on the resort is 5 star.
Facilities are clean. Staff friendly and helpful. One negative aspect is the control at the hot pool in particular. Guests sit on stairs making it inconvenient for people with weight problems who have difficulty going up and down stairs. Security guard sitting in corner and no control over facility.

We couldn't ask for more. We noticed that the hot water took a very long time to reach the shower. We stood and waited for the hot water to come in. However we did report it to management.

The sheltered swimming pool still looks like it did years ago when we swam there as children. The baboons are still just as mischievous! The resort is well maintained, clean and neat. As I indicated it was very frustrating due to you don't know when the restaurant and take away will be open. The one day the take away said that they will be open until 6, we went by 4 o clock and they were closed. When I made the booking I specifically requested to stay in a unit with a bath and not a shower. We received a unit with an shower. The day we arrived the security was very arrogant with me. The one day I went down the stairs to my car and the person with the paint ball gun was sleeping on the steps. The same day the monkeys climb threw our window eat all our eggs and made a mess in the unit.
Very modern units, we saw wild animals everyday by just walking down to the dam. The nature is breathtakingly beautiful.

The mountain hut was very comfortable, just a pity for the water that ran out in the morning. But it's understandable if your neighbors all have a new bathtub. But otherwise the visit was very nice.

We stayed in the Crystal Room. It's one of the most beautiful rooms I've stayed in. The breakfast at the restaurant was very tasty. The resort is very big and I love that strict rules are applied to the swimming area. There is permanent security at the swimming pools. Little Kariba will definitely see me again.

Peaceful woodland with lots of activities and lots of wildlife. The fishing nook house was luxurious and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend ATKV Klein Kariba anytime. Nice resting place for our people.
The place was so neat and tidy, there were enough facilities. The only issue we had was the the apartments were advertised as accommodating 4 people and it is only big enough for 2, because the sleeper couch, once pulled out, makes it impossible to move around and the couches are very uncomfortable. The bathroom is also en-suite to the bedroom so every time someone goes to the bathroom the person sleeping wakes up.
Concerned that there are no lifeguards around pools where small children swim. This while people are drinking around the pool. Restaurant service and food quality is really below average and unappetizing.
I will recommend the lick to everyone and will also bring my in-laws in the future.
As always, it was lovely to holiday at Klein Kariba. We went horse riding, which is really affordable and we really enjoyed the quad bike ride with the kids. Swimming pools were nice and clean and we often saw the zebras, monkeys, goats and badgers. Our unit was okay, but not all the plates on the stove worked.
We really enjoyed our stay. It would be lovely to have air-con in the rooms but other than that, it was a nice breakaway with the kids. We will definitely visit Klein Kariba again.
We were also not allowed to take our food and drinks next to the pool and no music was aloud in the rooms even if played softly. This was not even communicated to us. The rules were not supplied.

We enjoyed our stay, it is a very tranquil area but there are also a lot of activities for young kids and older people can walk peacefully around.
Klein Kariba's resort is fantastic to unwind at. The accommodation is very neat, clean and comfortable. The resort facilities are superb and are fantastic to use. We did have a problem with our reservation. After we paid the bill in full a day before we left, the ATKV's administration could not locate our proof of payment after we emailed it several times. The ATKV office called us numerous times during our stay regarding the amount they could not locate. Their poor communication and inability was not at all welcome on a weekend we wanted to unwind. The ATKV's website is also very old and behind the times. The photos do not accurately reflect the accommodation and the website is extremely unfriendly. The feedback and whole process of booking was extremely easy and professional. Make sure that if you book, the ATKV does receive the proof of payment before you leave.
We as family miss every second.

As per previous review, I still have the same complaint as to the cleanliness. - very poor! At least this time I went prepared and took my own bedding and pillows. Again found hairs on sheets/floors like last time as well as poor cleaning service - terrible!

Klein Kariba's staff are absolutely fantastic. Our chalet's sewerage leaked in the chalet on Friday evening. Then the main staff moved us to a log cabin. Their help was absolutely fantastic and helped move. The manager was also there. Unfortunately, some of the people at the resort were unable to behave themselves. But from the resort's side, the service was 10 out of 10. Thank you very much for a great weekend.
We booked a flat for 4 sleepers and the place was good. We enjoyed our stay.
There was no privacy and no power points in the single bed room. The lights did not work, the windows on the 2nd floor were dirty. The bathroom is very small and there is only one space for a towel. Windows of the indoor heated swimming pool room were terribly dirty and overgrown with algae or some type of moss. The roof has holes and leaks when it rains.
Next accommodation is in wooden house on the dam.
We had a great time in a 3* tent house, it was definitely a camping feeling, but with all the luxury of a house! Although the resort was fully booked, it was very quiet at the tent houses and we could therefore rest wonderfully! The other facilities were fantastic too!

We really enjoyed our stay and will be back. The quads were reasonably priced and I would definitely recommend them. Swimming pools were nice, neat and clean.
It's a nice place for family outings.
I can squint at the surroundings. Places are clean and tidy. The entertainment is outstanding - my granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the horse ride and rowing boat. The hot pools are my highlight of the entire visit. Then of course the slide to support my granddaughter. Everything is just outstanding. Even the welcome at the restaurant for breakfast where everyone is helpful and helpful. Well done!
The on-site shop's service could do with a lot of improvement. While it was relatively quiet, there was only one outlet open which caused a long queue. We will make sure we bring our own drinks for future visits. We requested the one member of staff to attend to it. The shop's prices were also above average high (such as soft drinks), as if they knew people wouldn't drive to town. The complementary pack of wood with first night was a big plus. However, buying extra wood from the store was very expensive compared to roadside vendors.

Wow, very impressive resort, by far one of the best holiday locations in the RSA that I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The staff (reception, security, cleaning, restaurant, shops and grounds) were always extremely polite and helpful. The accommodation which was a 6 sleeper cabin right against the waters was fantastic, central heating with all the kitchen equipment you can think of and comfortable beds with a spectacular view from its huge balcony. The resort itself has an impressive security service with a visible presence the entire time day/night. The wild life birds/animals was really great and we took plenty photos of new birds that we had never seen before, the fishing was very relaxing and all of us caught carp ranging between 4 kg and 6 kg (tip make use of meel worms) the fish were not being caught on anything else. The food at the restaurant (Koswerf) was fantastic and is highly recommended (rumps steaks melt away in your mouth). The shop on site caters for everything (bread, meat, drinks, clothes etc) when you have forgotten something at home, we even bought swim suits for the grandchildren as they forgot theirs at home. The hot water indoor pool was great and it was very difficult to get the grandkids out once they were in the pool. The tuck shops for quick meals makes it easy to entertain the children while they make use of the water slides and mini golf facilities or even the outdoor pools. Plenty play areas for the kids. We will most definitely be back and if you want a place to take a break and just relax then this is the place. A big thank you to all the staff members of this resort, you made our stay most enjoyable.
Everything and everyone was friendly and every helpful. They always had smiles on their face. Place itself was beautiful and clean.
Cleanliness was not up to standard, door handles and shower doors broken. Entertainment was not suitable for younger children (2 - 5 years). Monkeys are shot with paintball guns - I know they're annoying, but they didn't bother us, only the people who fed them. Mini golf and trampolines close at 5 in the afternoons.
The facilities were neat and the service was friendly. For the rates per night the quality of the furniture and linen will have to be improved. We stayed there for four nights and the towels weren't changed even once. Although I am fully aware that we shoudl save water, I still feel like the towels should have been washed every second day. Besides that the accommodation was really pleasant and I will recommend it to family and friends.
A bathroom with bath would have been better for a three-year old. Cleaning services only did the dishes. Would also have prefered a security gate in front of the door. And we couldn't put washing out to dry because the patio is small.
One of the best vacations ever for me and my friends, staff are friendly, The view was gorgeous. The experience with the baboons was one of the best, scary, but definitely worth experiencing. We will surely be back.

Was at the Tented camp. Tent was fully equipped, serviced everyday. Was in the bush, very quiet and private. Was nice waking up with the birds singing and not by traffic. Maintenance staff was very helpful!
What an enjoyable weekend. Quiet and peaceful with the most gorgeous natural beauty. We really didn't have a reason to complain (perhaps our room could just have had a bath instead of a shower). The prices are very reasonable (especially in the restaurant). Lots to do with not a bored moment. A weekend is actually too short, will definitely stay longer next time.

The unit was uncomfortably small, had to stand aside so that the others could pass in the kitchen. The room's door could only close if you moved the bed! If the couches were made up in beds, other furniture were squashed to make space. Don't know how 3 adults and 1 child could be placed here. Definitely paid too much for the unit.
Good accommodation and central to explore the area. Berghut 50 is delightfully private. It would be nice if there could be a dishcloth and dishcloth in the house, we had to buy our own. For the rate, one expects at least the basic items, but other than that it was delicious.
It was very nice! Just a pity the restaurant takes a long time with food and sometimes forgets about an order.

I am pleasantly surprised with Klein Kariba. It was my first visit to Klein Kariba and definitely not my last visit. Usually we went to Weesgerus, but we are already planning our next visit to Klein Kariba in June. We would have liked to have stayed a day longer, but due to circumstances at home we could not. That's why we want to return in June. The biggest surprise was the breakfast that was included in the room reservation.

The unit is for 6 people - there are 2 bedrooms (for 4 people) and 2 couches in the living area that can be converted into beds.
The accommodation is neat and clean. Amenities are up to standard except for the lack of air conditioning.
We can recommend the rooms. It is beautifully decorated. It's very quiet so you can rest well.
We had a great stay and the children really enjoyed the hot pools. There were strict rules regarding music, but unfortunately both nights heard the blare of someone's party until 4 in the morning.
I love the resort, it's nice, but the only thing I feel they should change is, almost everything is written only in Afrikaans. We couldn't understand anything. They should write everything in English and Afrikaans as well. Besides that, I had an awesome time.
Stay was pleasant, enjoyed the peaceful quiet environment. Children really enjoyed it. Weekend just too short for all the activities we would like to participate in. Unit was suitable for weekend stay, might be small if wanted to stay longer. Resort nice clean and tidy, nice visit. Linens in our unit can be replaced.

The resort offers a wide variety of accommodation in the form of apartments, mountain homes, cabins, tent houses, and guest bedrooms. The resort boasts 177 self-catering units. Apart from swimming towels, dishcloths and cleaning supplies, all units are fully furnished and equipped. All units have limited DStv as well as braai facilities and parking.
Guests have access to a host of activities and recreational facilities, as well as an on-site restaurant, a takeaway café, a well-stocked convenience store, and an ATM. The resort boasts 2 hot mineral springs, a heated indoor swimming pool, a cold outdoor swimming pool, and a splash pool.
